Not the band YES. I sent an e-mail to a friend of mine telling her that he died. She replied, "Who?" I said "their bass player." She said, "Who's bass player." I said, "Exactly"

Ok, to me it was funny.

First Keith Moon, course that was a while ago and an accidental drowning after he drove his car into a pool. Hopefully Mr Entwhistle went a little bit better than than. RIP the golden stringed bassist.

Boris the Spider has to be one of the greatest bass-centric songs there is.

Keith Moon is kind of not an original member. He was the only one to NOT to play in the Detours, which later became the Who.
Wow - and their tour was suppose to start this weekend...Bonee
Jun 27, 2002 3:11 PM
I think the opening night of the tour was this coming weekend, they are (were?) playing The Joint in Vegas.

Thats a bummer.

At The Tweeter Center here so. of Chicago.

Really sad. He was one of, if not the best bass player ever.

People my age or not much older dying way too often recently.

Post the picture of little Stine in the Cheap Trick Shirt.

I've looked for it before, but I couldn't find it. You posted it when one of your friends passed away. May he rest in peace.

Ooh la la. What a hottie.

Think I'll see if I can dig up that shirt if I still have it. I suddenly have the urge to wear it again.

I recently saw them at the Chandler (AZ) Osterich Fest, a carnival-like fest that revolves Osteriches (Osterich races, Osterich burgers, etc.).
LOL! No kidding?Stine

How sad! I knew they were still playing. Saw them on TV not long ago.

That sounds about as low as you can get....hahaha.

What were you doing there anyway?

;)
Actually, it's not as bad as it sounds...Fat-tire

it's a pretty popular weekend in Chandler. Lots of drinking and local bands. They typically try to get one "name" band a night (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). For the life of me, I can't recall any other bands that have played (I seriously went for Cheap Trick...and the "lots of drinking.") There was probably about 1000 at the concert that night.

My only exposure to them prior to that was The Flame, Surrender, and Fast Times are Ridgemont High (remember, those were the tixs Mike was trying to scalp when he found out Jennifer Jason Leigh was pregnent), but it still sounded like fun. And it was.

I saw them a few years back for the first time in about 15 years at a bar in San Diego. The blew the roof off the place for 2.5 hours. I expected a circus act, but they were about 50 times better than I remember. No bubble gum this turn around.

They came back to town a year later and played a popular outdoor venue. Show started at 8:35, I didn't realize they had a 10:00 pm curfew. Show lasted less than 90 minutes. Not there fault, but the bar tickets were $15 each, the outdoor venue were $45 each, so I felt a little ripped.
yup, and he was in Vegaskrank

Since the Who is just about my fav band of all-time.

I remember seeing the concert for Who's Next album, that was my first concert in which I saw the Who, but the Quadrophenia concert was one of the best concert's I'd ever seen. Only wish I was old enough to of seen them perform Tommy live...
