| Tour de Coe ride profile | Uncle Brian Sep 24, 2002 8:52 AM | | This is the entire day. I've labeled some of the trails and landmarks for reference. Our pace was very slow, and if the x-axis was time, you'd be able to see the rest stops.
I did have some pictures, but my new $40 digital camera from SiPix crashed when I was installing the software. So, Faaaaast Eddy will have to supply the photos.

| Cool - how does it calculate power output? | Biking Viking Sep 24, 2002 9:04 AM | | Do you input the weight of rider+gear+bike and then it uses vertical ascending speed and adds some arbitrary number for rolling resistance? (I doubt air drag was a major factor on most of those climbs)
A max of 287 Watts seems on the low side considering that you had to go deeply anaerobic to power up some of those 40% grades.

| Yeah, I should have put in my weight.... | Uncle Brian Sep 24, 2002 9:13 AM | | so it's got some default value in there. I just got this unit back from the factory rep and didn't have time to set it up. I did check the wheel circumference.
The power looks low because I was going soooo damn slow.
Did you see the max temp?
UB |
| I bet the max temp was not air temp. I'd be more interested in.. | Biking Viking Sep 24, 2002 9:16 AM | | ...total calories, though.
Can it do that?
BV |
| I'll bet it was close to the temp inside my helmet though (nm) | Uncle Brian Sep 24, 2002 9:32 AM | | |
| You want Stats? | merlin Sep 24, 2002 9:32 AM | | BV, If you want more information then you need for all of your rides try the polar 710. I use it on all road and MTB rides. I download the rides to the software and I get total: miles, elavation gain, cadence, speed, miles calories burned, etc. I did not pay extra for the power option because I heard it was not very reliable. Having all my rides stored in one place is awesome. Also the software totals your miles, hours on the bike(actual ride time) and calories burned each week. It's great to go back and compare. Also, I can e-mail the ride files to my coach. |
