| Tour de Coe Teaser Pics | Fast Eddy Sep 24, 2002 11:31 AM | | I hadn't realized that I took 80 pictures, so it's going to take me another day to Photoshop them (if that's a verb). These are a small sample of the ones I've done so far.
This is near the top of Jackson Trail where it turns into double-track. Riders are PaulJ, Kyezle, Sean, Brian and Derek. We were trying to figure out where the yellow flowers get their water. Everything else is dead dry, but some flowers are yellow with green stalks.
The time is about 8:15am:

| We only saw a dozen or so non-riders the whole day | Fast Eddy Sep 24, 2002 11:34 AM | | Non-rider, Coit Road, just north of Coit Camp near the pond on the left, about 9:30:

| Scared of spiders? | Fast Eddy Sep 24, 2002 11:36 AM | | PaulJ isn't. Junction of Coit Road and Mahoney Meadows Road, 9:45:

| Fast Forward about 5 hours... | Fast Eddy Sep 24, 2002 11:46 AM | | ...past 10 miles of awesome singletrack and 40 pictures. We're down to four riders having parting company with Kyle and Derek. I come around this corner, and I see this. I had to swear loudly at the park itself. This is looking NE from Bear Mtn. Rd. at elevation 1360.
The place that looks like a road going up the peak at the top-center at an insane angle is a road going up the peak at the top-center at an insane angle. This is about 3:00, and it's about 95f.

| Brian deserves an Oscar for this performance. | Fast Eddy Sep 24, 2002 11:49 AM | | You would never think he was near death, but he was. This is around 3:30.

| Backwards View | Fast Eddy Sep 24, 2002 11:54 AM | | If you go back to the "Fast Forward" post and picture, and look at the road going up to the little peak at top-center, there's a tree. See it? This picture is taken from there, facing the opposite way.
On the top-left is Willow Peak and Sada's Pines, top-right is Blue Ridge, and in the center is the ridge with Lost Springs Trail and China Hole Trail on the other side. The ridge on the horizon is out of the park on the West (owned by Nature Conservancy).
This must've been around 4pm.

| Finally, the promised land, er, water. | Fast Eddy Sep 24, 2002 1:11 PM | | Two shots of Mississippi Lake from the spot we first could see it. These were shot from County Line Road, just after turning off Bear Mtn. Rd. around 5pm.

| Fuzzy Finishers | Fast Eddy Sep 24, 2002 1:16 PM | | Apparently Nikon has some work to do in the area of focusing in total darkness. We're sitting on the little wooden platform just north of the trail at the top of the climb out of Kelly Lake. It must've been around 8:30pm. From left: Uncle Brian, Fast Eddy, PaulJ and Sean.
That's all I've got for today. More photos, some with actual riders and trails, and a better story tonight (or so).
