Colorado Springs unofficial mini gatheringKitchenware

The mountain biking gods smiled upon us Saturday for an amazing Colorado December day. With temps expected to be in the 60's, nearly a dozen of us braved the sunshine and scenery of Colorado Springs' Palmer Park. Stand by for a plethora of pics and a coupla' clips.

Most of the group getting ready in the lot.

First, After seeing that I think I have some great luck since that rock could have easily put me in the hospital. The vid of you, KW, shows the rock clearly. My hand feels pretty good compared to how that looks

Second, That was a cool crash. A gem.
I've seen a couple of keepers from you.Kitchenware
Dec 16, 2002 9:21 AM
One of my favorite Pete vids has a particularly funny crash of yours in it. :D At least you can get them on film and relive them forever.

Good deal on the hand.

You're right, that crash could have been REAL bad.
Glad you're okay Rich. . .JS5280

I thought it was going to be a real bad crash too otherwise I would of kept the camera rolling. I'll know better next time ;-) Hope that hand heals up quickly. My black and blue marks are almost gone this morning.
I was going to ask about that rock.Biking Viking

I'm pretty sure we're talking about the same one. Glad you're OK. If you hadn't stopped sliding in time, it surely would have helped you with that.

Great posts from CO today, both KW and JS. I need to find a customer up there to go visit some time.

How does Eric like his Straight6 compared to the other bikes in your group.

Did he find that anything was particularly good/bad on the Straight6?

climbing, descending, technical, drop offs, etc.

I'm curious on his thoughts.

By the way, great pics!

keep up the good work.

I think he's had it for quite a while. He seems to like it just fine, never heard him complain about anything except for the lack of Krokus air play. ;)

Eric normally doesn't ride our bikes so I'm sure he wouldn't be able to answer this question.

He bought it as a replacement to his homegrown hardtail and he has seen a dramatic improvement in his ability compared to his other bike.

My Straight 6 is like a cross between a battleship and a stick of warm butter. I love it.

As for not riding other bikes, Rich is correct, I haven't ridden his bike. I'm concerned about personal hygine amongst these animals I ride with. :)

I had no idea there was a mini gathering down there...guess I need to spend more time here.

I ended up putting in a solid 5 hours on the road bike saturday and for the first time have mid-december tan lines.
