Moving slow this morning. Met FastEddy in Los Gatos for coffee around 10. Day 4 of the *wet* May by the Bay gathering. Can two guys riding the Demo Forest be considered a gathering???

Beautiful day today in the Santa Cruz Mountains. We ambled around in the forest for a few hours. From the picnic table up on Ridge Trail you could see the Pacific. It was warm and sunny.

Two loops. Tractor was fast, smooth and tacky, yeehaw! The climb on Sulphur Spring was hampered only by a large tree down completely blocking the trail which forced a dismount and hike-o-round. Braille was a test; a lot of slimy corners wanted to toss you to the ground. Mostly unscathed we made our way back to the car and off to town for a burrito.

The camera stayed in the car, but here are a few pieces of evidence marking the close of MBTB 5.

I think we did ok considering the weather. Not counting the rides earlier in the week, we had four rides on three days. 9 showed up for a mud feast at Annadel on Friday, 11 for the same at the gap on Sunday. Even the splinter group brought together four guys who've never ridden before.

It's a bummer we didn't get to camp, but I got more than one new riding buddy during the weekend, and I think some other folks did too. You nor-cal guys and girls who didn't make any of the rides were missed. See you in D'ville.

Here's a link to a page with links to the photo threads.

Thanks all.
Nice Photos guys. Tim, where's the action?GrahamKracker

Tim,

Where's the infamous wheelie photo?

To everyone who rode on Th, thanks for the good times, and hopefully I'll see everyone again on another ride. Please shoot me an email whenever you feel like riding in Santa Cruz. If my tour guide thing works out, I should have space for about 8 bikes on my van, if that's ever an issue. BTW, I'll try to make it to D'ville this year, and maybe bring some other people.

I am glad to have made one of the rides...

Without lots of effort and time on the part of everyone at fridays ride I would have missed out on my second Gathering.

Getting to meet new friends and reafirm on going friendships, made the riding even better.

I plan on seeing most of you thru the coming season.

And a Farewell to Geir...I look forward to your posts from Norway and your new SS Passion.

Tim

Looking ahead to this coming week of riding...Starting with a three day Boggs Bash and BBQ (posting it tomorrow).

Even through the weather did not cooperate and we didn't get to camp, you did a great job pulling it all together. Thanks for organizing "May in the Bay!"

A BIG thank you to you from me also.

I appreciate you putting the time in to organize MBTB. I too found some new riding buds and got a chance to ride a trail I've wanted to for a while but never made it to. Thursday was a bonus.

I am definitely fired up to ride some more, local and also the Downieville and Tahoe Gatherings.

Cheers

Tim
