Possible relocation on the horizon.

What's the riding scene in Western Denver? What are the prime trils w/in an hour's drive of town? How long does the riding season last?

TIA,

A

Denver has the best riding close to town of any big city I have lived in. Lots of folks like to bash Jeffco riding (most of the riding just west of town are in Jeffco) but there's a huge trail network that's open to bikes. Unlike Boulder.

The trails can be kind of wide and crowded at prime time, but you can ride nearly all year, can get away from folks if you have the legs, and choose from a wide variety of terrain.

My faves close in are Apex, White Ranch, Dakota Ridge (nice and burly) etc... The list goes on and the real great stuff is only an hour or so from town.

I-70 does suck though. On the weekends its a slow parade of huge SUV's packed with toys.
