Happy Birthday Slartibartfast! (Take 2)Mary Ann

(Once again with feeling....)

Ok, that silly polling put your birthday message WAY too far down the page. I'm moving it up and wishing you a fine 38th birthday one more time!

BTW, enquiring minds want to hear about your first ride. ANd we're impatient about it, so chop, chop!!

Yup, 38. Damn I'm old.

First ride went well. Actually forgot I had a gimpy leg. Lungs were as useful as a couple of crisp packets, and not the jumbo version. Penny was delighted for, as she saw it, it was the first time she could ride beside me rather than just following the dust!

Racer-X went well. Not used to the 5th Element / Fox X combo just yet, got a kinda suprise at the first bunny-hop when the bike didn't compress under me as I was used to and left me rather short of elevation. By the end of the ride I was getting relaxed on the bike and was learning to give her more room and speed. Damn it was fun.

Back to Huffy-pushing.

My first bunnyhop with a 5th was rather dissapointing, that shock does its damndest to keep the rear wheel glued to the ground.

Great job getting back on the bike, you've got every right to be proud of yourself.

A day late, but I hope it was a good one.

Glad to hear you're back on the bike. Takes time, but you'll be rippin' it up in no time.
