I went to Annadel State Park near Santa Rosa, CA for the first time yesterday and I was really impressed. Below is a nearly 7 minute video, 38 meg.

You could say this park is where I got my true beginnings. It was 10 years ago and I was riding a full rigid bike. Because of all the rocky trails wrecking my wrists, I went and bought a set of Marzocchi XC300 air forks. That's dating myself. Thanks for all the videos.

It's nice to read about trail reviews before you do a new ride, but there's nothing like checking it out first on video. Your video's have given me some great trail ideas for new places to check out, and some others that I might want to avoid(ie.Downieville First Divide). Keep up the good work!

How are your knees holding up these days? How are you liking that new epic?

Keep in mind that my videos do not necessarily reflect the entire trail. I tend to show only the faster downhill sections. No point in showing myself huffing and puffing up a bunch of hills. Also, the wide angle lens flattens everything. Knees have been quite bad for about 2 months now. Just finishing up a series of Synvisc injections, a viscous substance injected into the knees to provide some cushioning. The Epic is even better than I had imagined! Sure makes climbing a lot easier since I no longer have that bounce.

I was just there Sunday, myself and had a blast. I was really on that day. You can get going so fast, but there are horse riders and hikers out there, so be careful.

Was that vid of North Burma, Orchard Trail -> Rough Go -> Cobbelstone?

Great stuff. Heal the knees!

A bit of the North Burma at the start, lower Steve's the middle section, and the end was a bit of Rough Go and perhaps a little Cobblestone. Cobblestone was fantastic going down but the sun was directly into the camera most of the time. Too bad, I actually went down some pretty rocky stuff on that. The Cannell Plunge trip is on for this Saturday! Not too late to join us.
Wow! Thanks for the offer...pimpbot

...but I got plans for Sat Night, so I have to stay local, like.

Cannel plunge is up at Tahoe, right? That is on my 'to do' list, but it may have to wait until Spring.

Perhaps rigging a hood out of black construction paper and duct tape would help the sun issues. You could just make a cone just out of the angle of view on around the lens.

You can go out any Saturday night but this ride is an epic. See this post for details and links to photos and videos.
