Feeling "cranky"?...terminaut

I've created a page on my site with pictures of various interesting cranksets for use as reference when out crank shopping. Just some pics for a Sunday afternoon.

The picture here is of the Sweet Parts "Wings" cranks.

I've been using a pair for 6 or 7 years, and I have a love/hate relationship with them. The bearings used to get trashed fairly easily, and you have to carry a big ass 8 mm wrench to tighten 'em up if they get loose on the trail, but they haven't been giving me any troubles recently. I just put red loctite on it about 2 weeks ago to prevent the screw from backing out, but I still carry that big wrench. Light & very durable though.

BTW, are they still around? That looks like a new one...

It is difficult to contact them. I think I got through to them by e-mail off their website. They only sell directly to the customer these days.

I just picked up a Big Cheese crankset for my new Fixed Gear. Does anyone have any feedback on these cranks? They seemed a little expensive, but hopefully well worth it?

is that those are the first generation Cook's cranks. I bought mine from a bikeshop display case... It had been sitting there since the eighties!

You bring up a good point in that I'd like to get submissions from people for various interesting cranks. My goal is to eventually have galleries for various components. I started with rigid forks, now the cranks, and am going to add a brakes section soon.
