I'm looking for a rigid, suspension corrected fork for my steel SS frame and wondering who makes a nice compliant one. Looking for something relatively comfy, but not real expensive. Suggestions?

thanks all.

I have a unicrown straight taper and it rocks. It is somewhat copmliant yet maintains a bit-o-rigidity for aggresive poking. I have wide TI bars for taking the bump off. Be careful not to end up with a noodle!

This Saturday everyone is meeting at the Moshannon State Forest at noon at a parking area on route 504. If you get on 504 from Rt 220 504 will climb up onto the ridge and after it flattens out the parking area is on the right in about 2 miles.

There are also rides planned for Saturday night and a cook out.

If you want to meet me in State College and ride to the parking area together let me know.

Hi WAM. I'm wrestling with a conflicting family obligation for that day. I may not know for sure until that morning. If I'm there I'll be riding a blue and white Stumpjumper converted to SS use (since my psuedo-custom steel SS frame probably won't be ready by then) with either a black rigid fork or a white Mars, depending on whether or not the Mars is back from Answer by then. OR, just look for the slowest guy there!

If you show then you can try to be the slowest, but I'm sure I'll be able to beat you. I haven't ridden the single speed yet since may broken collarbone. I have been riding the geared bikes to try and get back to a good level of fitness prior to subjecting myself to the abuse of the SS.

I'll be on a green kona kaboom.

Hope to see you there.

Cool. We'll match your broken collarbone against my emphysemic lungs. That should be epic! (Hope I can make it).
