Chain & Chainring Compatibility(1 post)

Chain & Chainring CompatibilityWannabe

Found a nice unramped 36T chainring from a triple road crankset. Im also using a single 18T cassette cog in the rear. Last night i installed a IG 91 chain to fit the pitch and width of the chainrings/cogs.

Without tension from the singlenator im getting about one half to three quarters of an inch of slack in the chain. But ive noticed that when i back pedal, the crank doesnt seem to move freely. Do i have to add a link? (which i really dont want to do), will the chainring and chain wear together? If i leave it will it destroy by BB and freewheel? Thanks for the help in advance.
