| Wanted- 180mm cranks(arms)on the cheap | kam Feb 13, 2002 7:28 PM | | does anyone know where I can get some 180mm square taper cranks on the cheap? i went to ebay and sure enough, there was a sweet pair of race face turbine lp, but i got outbid(dooh!!!). i'd preferably like something with a 4 bolt design(so i can use my 34Tspot ring I had set up to my truvativ cranks) but it really doesn't matter that much.TIA for any help. |

| sounds good, can ya tell me more... | kam Feb 13, 2002 9:42 PM | | i tried fsa's website, and there wasn't a online store. what model are they? bolt pattern? also(and less importantly), what colors are available.

| I just bought some | DAS Feb 14, 2002 8:32 AM | | I just bought a pair. They are chrome, 5 bolt pattern, tapered square. They are a bit heavy, but so far so good. I bought them b/c I wanted to try 180mm without buying RaceFace at list price. also, the plastic part makes me a little nervous. I hope it doesn't break. |
| thanks Das(more)... | kam Feb 14, 2002 8:59 AM | | i saw you teesdale, sweet bike man, i hope your build goes o.k. what's plastic on the fsa cranks? plastic parts on a crankset definately doesn't sound promising, but for $40 what's to ge expected.
cheers. |
| thanks Das(more)... | bikeguy100k Feb 14, 2002 9:24 AM | | Hey guys,
What parts is plastic? The only part on there that is platsic is the little ring on the crank bolt, which is only for cosmetics. shomani uses that same bolt. The arms are aluminum, the spider is aluminum, and the bolts attaching the spider to the arms are steel. I don't know of any other pats on that (or any) crank set that is alloy.
The cranks DAS got and manyother people have bought are older models and that is why they're so inexpensive. That is also why they're not on the webpage.
Thanks! Please tell me what is plastic on these cranks...

| my bad! | DAS Feb 14, 2002 11:24 AM | | OK, if it's all metal, I'll take your word for it. I must have looked at the steel (non-aluminum, black) part and thought it was plastic. I apologize. I should have been more careful before I commented on the cranks. These cranks are a screaming deal. Definitely quality for the $$$. DAS |
| my bad! | bikeguy100k Feb 14, 2002 3:02 PM | | Thanks DAS... I have a set and like 'em. Just so y'all know, I paid the same price for the cranks as all of you who've bought them! And I work here!
Rubber side up! No...wait....
