| Question for Robss and 32:20-which disc adaptor? | SFrider Apr 17, 2002 8:18 AM | | You guys both responded to a post below about using a disc adaptor on your bikes. What are you guys using? Atom Labs, Paul? Do you have pics? Any advice? I am building a SS with horizontal drops and no disc frame mounts. I was looking at the Atom Labs adaptor but it looks like you need a flip-flop hub to mount it? I have a Spot disc hub. Spot is coming out with an adaptor but they couldn't tell me when it will be available. Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks. |
| Disc adaptor/mount | Robss Apr 17, 2002 8:29 AM | | My disc adaptor is an adaptor/mount combined with a custom Paul dropout. not an after market type adaptor Hope this helps.

| thanks, interesting setup. i gots no mount | SFrider Apr 17, 2002 9:56 AM | | cool, thanks for the pic. I'm looking for something to use without a mount
-love the hub colors |
| Disc adaptor/mount | TwoCircles Tim Apr 17, 2002 11:08 AM | | Interesting mount. From that angle it looks like you have to remove the disc caliper to get the rear wheel out - I have seen this with the Azonic frames. Is this the case here? |
| Hmmm? never tried to pull it straight back | Robss Apr 17, 2002 12:18 PM | | when I look at it (not in pic) it looks a little different because you can see the slot in the brake. If I cant pull it straight out I will redesign and machine a new aluminum piece.
I always remove the axle bolts because the brass washers are in tight, no messing with the alignment when reinstaling the wheel |
| I misspoke | 32:20 Apr 17, 2002 11:10 AM | | the frame has disc mounts on it and I don't use an adapter. Sorry for the confusion. On-One makes one I think(or at least there was a prototype) but I think it limited the gear ratios you could use... |
| On-One adaptor won't work on my frame | SFrider Apr 17, 2002 11:23 AM | | I emailed Brant and he said it wouldn't work due to the recessed dropout. Thanks for your response. |
