I have a 99 kona kaboom with these parts
surley 1x1 laced to a rhyno light on the back
lx with a rhyno light on front
profile riser bar red
profile stiffy stem
manitou x-vert super fork red
thompson seatpost
truvative stylo team cranks 32 tooth with guard
the fenders
avid archrival 5.0 brakes with avid levers
and good tires

I was thinking around $500 what do you all think

$500 seems a bit high if most or all of the parts have been used. Usually the rule is half of what the bike sold for when new, then you subtract a bit for each year(usually upgrades don't count much, but you have some key upgrades like the shock and wheels). Even on ebay I'm not sure if you would get $500. Give use more information like condition of frame, components, size of bike, etc.

Well you can try ebay, but from what I've seen SS bikes don't get as much bidding action as their geared brothers. The key is to set a low opening bid and set a decent reserve price (what you would be happy to get). You could also set a "buy it now" price to see if anyone *really* wants the bike. I've just been reminded in the last auction I ran that pictures are really important. I took some pictures with a 35mm camera and they didn't develop so I had no pictures to offer my bidders and my reserve didn't get reached. Ultimately it's your call. I see lots of Konas being sold on ebay (hey that's where I bought my Cinder Cone!) so you might do well. If you take good pictures and show that the bike is in the condition you state it is, then you might get the $500 you want. Good luck and if selling the complete bike does not work, then part it out (hey I might even be interested in the wheels:)).
