Jun 25, 2002 7:11 PM | | Now I've done it. After hearing Francis say, "When you going to shed the gears on that thing??" multiple times, I finally made the SC Chameleon into a SS. UPS broke the rear shifter in transit to Maryland, and I'm borrowing an Ellsworth Truth gearie for the summer, so I figured it was a good time to convert the Chameleon into a singlespeed. Maryland trails don't have the long steep uphills that Norcal has, so it makes for decent SS riding. Still missing the Bay area though...Maiden SS voyage is tomorrow at Avalon.
Any MD riders want to hook up for Avalon, Gambrills, Schaffer or whereever? I'm relearning the trails over here after a four year absence.

I'm going to do (i.e., get spanked) at a race tonight at Wakefield, but I may be able to hook up with you Thursday or Friday night. Some MTBR SS posters in the DC area are Eelpie, TOMA, Single Speed Outlaw, GiantXC, Mugg, and me.
BTW, I got back from the Bay area a couple of weeks ago and I had my first taste of West Coast SS'ing at Skeggs, Soquel, and UCSC with Francis & the gang. It was a blast! |
