| rigid forks | davemal Sep 12, 2002 12:47 AM | | Hi Guys,
I am in the process of upgrading my beach cruiser to a more capable ss. At the moment I have cheapish asian rigid forks & was wondering what is so good about expensive rigid forks - sure they are lighter & probably stronger & definitely look better but are there any other advantages ?
Please excuse my ignorance.

| same question here... Redline chromoly fork vs... | Allroy Sep 12, 2002 5:05 AM | | anything else, like a Surly or Vicious or any others, what's the difference between my straight bladed fork compared to tapered, strength, ride, rigidity?
thanks,

| Vicious | 32:20 Sep 12, 2002 5:51 AM | | I can't comment too much on how the forks compare, but I have a Vicious that I alternate with a Bomber and I love the performance of the Vicious. Steering is precise, with a bigger tire (Motoraptor 2.24) it is cushier than I thought and the 425mm feels natural coming off the Bomber. I find that I can track stand like a champ and climb like a mountain goat with the rigid...

| Surly Fork here | EricTheRed Sep 13, 2002 11:36 AM | | its nice and strong, it could be a bit softer but with a 2.3 front tire it isn't bad at all. I've done some dirt jumping with this fork (small stuff so far) and its held up great. I think the thing about a nice fork is the confidence you have that your equipment won't fail while riding. I think they retail for $60, only color is black though -e |
