thanks for checking it out. if there is a problem with the windows version let me know...for i have no pc to check it on. |
| FREE FREE FREE | poison chicken Nov 21, 2002 10:14 AM | | all versions are free, the only reason the pc version is a 30 day trial is that i do not have the professional version of the development software. i need to drop $90 to get the full version of the program that i wrote it in.
i might even post the source code...my only concern is "real" programmers laughing at the "spagehetti code"...no it's not quite that bad, but i just program for the fun of it, and most of all i enjoy the math. if you ask me to program something that didn't have any math involved, then i most likely wouldn't do it.
i learned to program on a radio shack trs 80 color computer in basic language and have had no formal trainning coding...so i am not claiming to be a programmer and bigtime software is not a "real" company....so this is my disclaimer. LOL |
| cog size | gpsser Nov 21, 2002 10:23 AM | | This is just in response to the last thread about my suggestion for 20+ tooth cog sizes. Some of us on the west coast have been running 20+ tooth cogs both for climbing and with bigger front rings for less drivetrain stress. There was a thread earlier (Sparty and Mr. Tokyo) about Spicer making an adapter to run granny rings on the freehub.

| cog size? give me a maximum cog size...21,22,23? nm | poison chicken Nov 21, 2002 11:34 AM | | |
| being from ohio.... | poison chicken Nov 21, 2002 11:37 AM | | we go small in the back...so i can incorporate any size in the back you need...let me know what is needed. what should my maximum cog be? thanks for your help |
| no bigger than 24 unless somebody objects and wants bigger. (nm) | gpsser Nov 21, 2002 11:43 AM | | |
| 24's probably a reasonable max for most people ... | GlowBoy Nov 21, 2002 12:28 PM | | though Shiggy runs a 26 so he might want that option. Me, I go as large as 32 in back (seriously!), but as long as I still have access to FixMeUp! a limit of 24 or 26 would still cover 90% of the gear combinations I experiment with.

| I do not care... | shiggy Nov 21, 2002 4:38 PM | | ...because I will never use it. All of my SSs have/will have horizontal tips or an EBB. |
| done check later today, stuff, sending, and ftp'ing to web - nm | poison chicken Nov 21, 2002 12:30 PM | | |
| should i go smaller in the front? does anyone run 30? | poison chicken Nov 21, 2002 12:44 PM | | i can put any numbers in now. it is a matter on seconds to change it. should i go smaller infront? the only thing that i notice with adding more teeth (and this is just a small glitch) is that the slider bar that indicates about how far to either side of perfect you are is effected by the numerous combinations. it is run from an average difference and average count of T's and L's. oh well, i will fiddle with a better formula for the measurement of the average relative error (i.e. slider bar value). currently it is at 32-55 ( i upped the front, and 14-24 upped the back) |
| bug found | poison chicken Nov 21, 2002 3:25 PM | | sh%#, ijust found another bug. it is like putting a carpet down and when you get it tucked into one corner, it pops out at another.
i will get this bullet proof some day. please be patient.
keep trashing your old versions.
p.s. next week i will have a full version for windows, no expiration.
p.s.s. thanks again for everyone's feedback, suggestions, and help. ii cannot say that enough |
