| re: Huffy porn alert!!! | camp Mar 27, 2003 7:13 PM | | nice bars,
what are those? |
| They're White Brothers titanium bars... | terminaut Mar 27, 2003 9:12 PM | | I think they've got a 2 1/2" rise or something like that. |
| DO IT!! | shiggy©® Mar 27, 2003 8:11 PM | | Those guys will not know what to think when you get in the starting gate! |
| I second that, | kyezle Mar 27, 2003 9:55 PM | | You MUST ride that bike at Sea Otter. It stood out like a sore thumb at the SS Worlds, almost as much as that stock Schwinn cruiser. I don't want to take the race that seriously. That's why I'm contemplating wearing my polyester leisure suit when I ride...

| You guys have convinced me... | terminaut Mar 27, 2003 10:21 PM | | Ok, I'm gonna go for it - should be interesting!
What's this with the leisure suit? I gotta see that! |
| I thirdond that... | Hollywood Mar 28, 2003 8:47 AM | | Love the downhill rig! but rigid??!! Holy Human Vibrator...
I think my buddy/alter-ego "Smitty" may race in my place; Wal-Mart Tire & Lube mechanic's shirt w/ Smitty name tag, Billy Bob teeth, cut-offs. Now I just need one of those old Giro stretchy helmet covers for my old helmet and Smitty is in da house!!
off to Wal-Mart for some long-ass tube socks,

| Lunatic fringe... | terminaut Mar 28, 2003 8:05 PM | | Well, I officially registered for the DH today. Not settled on the exact bike setup yet though. I'm playing with the concept of a 5"-travel front end and Hope downhill brakes...
Here's a shot of the "concept" thus far for your imagination. I've gotta make a disc mount for the rear and am awaiting brakes. :-) |
| you rule! [o] | Hollywood Mar 28, 2003 8:44 PM | | I just hope the Huffy holds up to the abuse!.jpg) |
| Heheh... | terminaut Mar 28, 2003 8:56 PM | | >I just hope the Huffy holds up to the abuse!
Did you NOT see the sweet welds on my Huffy?! ;-)
I've already done some decent-sized drops on it when it was rigid... as well as bombed a few rocky trails. So far it hasn't behaved in any way to scare me. The "tubeset" is pretty beefy 6000-series aluminum so I'm not overly concerned about its structural integrity.
That rider in the picture most likely wasn't riding a pimp Huffy.
Who wants sum?!!! LOL. |
| we always say, "Start with a quality frame..." | been_jammin Mar 28, 2003 12:32 AM | | dig those clean welds!! |
| sorry to see you've lowered your standards... | jsbx Mar 28, 2003 2:39 PM | | to aluminum. Thought that you of all people would've been able to dig up a titanium Huffy somewhere. Just kidding of course---there's nothing wrong with aluminum. By the way, how's my old OM Flyer doing?
Tony |
| I know... | terminaut Mar 28, 2003 4:23 PM | | It's been a disappointing search for the elusive ti Huffy (btw, did you ever see my Huffy fixie?).
The OM still rests in the garage. I've actually got all the parts to build it up, but just haven't done so yet. Too many projects/rides and not enough screwing around time! |
| Wow! | jsbx Mar 28, 2003 8:15 PM | | Now that's a Huffy! Is it one of the Serotta-built team bikes? Looks to be my size too! |
| Yup... | terminaut Mar 28, 2003 8:20 PM | | It's one of the early team bikes, and all original. One of the interesting things is that it's equipped entirely with the Campy Pista groupo, and not the Dura Ace that you would expect.
Fits me perfect (I'm 5' 10") but I haven't put too many miles on it as the fixie thing hurt my knees a bit. |
