Sea Otter categories [o]aosty

Who's racing which category at Sea Otter? I can't decide between Beginner/Sport and Pro/Expert. It's my first XC/SS race - I usually finish mid-pack in Sport gearie.

If I do Beginner/Sport, I should do reasonably well with out them fast mutant Expert guys in the usual combined SS field... and I can watch and shoot (photos) the Pro/Elite race.

If I do Expert, I'm not too worried about the distance but it would certainly be a race against(for?) last place for me. Howevever, I get more bang for the buck (two laps) and I get to watch Roland blow by as he laps me!

Random photos from SO last year...

There are a alot of sandbaggers in the Begineer/ Sport class (which are combined by the way). This is a race and it is fun to at least come in at the middle and battle a few guys for position.

How are they gonna work the scoring for the singlespeed class in the CA State series? Sea Otter is one of the CA State series races right? Well AFAIK it's the only one with a sport/expert division in the singlespeed class? Raced Sagebrush today, no expert SS there...

How's that gonna work for overall scoring?
