| Singlespeed Sunrise Services [o] | Hollywood Jul 13, 2003 9:37 PM | | 5:30am Sunday and the alarm clock's a-ringin. Rise & chine for the 7am trailhead meet near the Rose Bowl with Ken aka gpsser and Fast Eddy aka house guest (down from NorCal no less). Gotta beat the heat boys, the sun's out to get us and there's 15 miles of downhill singletrack just waiting to get jostled around. (we, uh *cough*, shuttled to the trailhead).
Gearies were a no-show. Figures. Stupid gearies. ;-)
b Eddy's Gunnar in pre-ride meditation.
b Eddy rode more rocks rigid by 9am than most people do all day.
b early snap of Ken getting some morning air
b Eddy making a big splash at the oft-photographed waterfall spot
b Ken and Eduardo cling to the cliffside, reciting the morning prayers.
b Eddy: "Let me wheelie drop over your bike." Me: "ok".
b Ken's turn:
b gpsser went sleeveless to show off the guns. Bam!
b ...and he only charged us $5.00 ea. to hose down our bikes at the finish, so that was cool.
SNPA immediately following the bike wash, followed by way too much food, followed by a swim, then more food and margaritas. It's 10:30pm, 85 degress out. I'm typing this with one hand, the other tucked in my shorts ala Al Bundy, reclined back in my chair, eyes fading. Thanks for a great day guys.
i burp.
Christ am I tired & full.
HW - rocks, no salt. |

| Hollywood's the coolest SSer on the board!!!! | Fast Eddy Jul 14, 2003 8:26 AM | | He put me up at his super-cool pad, fed me, shuttled me, watched my back as my mystery car tried to strand me at the side of the 210, and showed me where all the hotties go to show off their fashions after Magic Mtn or a day of wake boarding at Castaic.
New brake pads, $25.
Dinner and a margarita, $27
New dirt and new buddies, priceless.
Thanks man.
I'll post my pics when I get home next weekend. |
