Jul 24, 2003 10:21 AM | | so that's who buys those loud primal jerseys. two guys, one on a f/s I can only ID as "squeaky," the other on one of dem super-expensive new Turner f/s frames, both looking all serious and in a hurry, come ripping by me just as I'm finishing my fig bars. I start off on my 36/20t full rigid SS, pretty soon I'm on them, they look back and start spinning like crazy in I guess a granny gear, heads a'bobbin and shoulders a'rockin. before the top of the (easy) climb they both pull over and I ride on through, then they start again right on my wheel. I heard squeaking and lots of gear shifting behind me for awhile after the climb, last thing I heard was something about "good lines....really smooth with that rigid bike" to which I replied, "yeah, singlespeed too, all ya need" and kept riding. SS: Faster uphill, faster downhill, faster on the flats. And no damn squeaking. |
