| White Industries ENO Freewheel Question | ssconvert Jul 24, 2003 10:25 AM | | I just replaced an ACS freewheel with a WI ENO 17t on my SS ride. The freewheel seems to be a bit tight as it does not spin as freely as the ACS one it replace. When the bike is in the stand and I spin the wheel backwards, rather than freely ratcheting it actually spins the chain and the cranks. Will it loosen with time or do I need to make an adjustment? |
| Is your chain tension too tight? (nm) | SnowMonkey Jul 24, 2003 10:30 AM | | |
| I don't think so | ssconvert Jul 24, 2003 10:38 AM | | I can see a bit of sag in the chain. When I had both freewheels off the bike the ACS seemed loose when I spun both in my hand. I wrote it off to the ACS having seen action while the WI was just out of the box. |
| Don't know about your particular situation, but | Mackie Jul 24, 2003 11:05 AM | | all of my bikes will spin the cranks when you spin the rear wheel backwards - that's just the way it works. |
| normal | bones Jul 24, 2003 11:26 AM | | Mine did that as well, it loosens up after a few rides.
enjoy, the ENO is awesome!

| Yup, normal | Fast Eddy Jul 24, 2003 11:49 AM | | Mine took more than a few rides to loosen up, but it's great now. I've got well over 1000 dirt miles on mine. |
| Yup, normal as well (nm) | chuckc71 Jul 24, 2003 12:47 PM | | |
| normal is good | ernesto from Wisconsin Jul 24, 2003 2:45 PM | | I have been riding the ENO for two weeks now and it rocks! Your freewheel's fine. Eat some rice with curry and you'll be fine.

I forgot how much fun single speed bikes are. I feel bad now that I sold my Matt Chester in California, but it went to a guy who's got hills in San Diego. I lived in the Valley, where its flat. As flat as a bad beer and as flat as a flat chick. |
