| Cross Tires | DT Jul 25, 2003 7:41 AM | | Looking at trying out some cross tires on the Pista while I'm at the beach this weekend. Any suggestions tire gurus?

| Go big! | Steve-O Jul 25, 2003 8:22 AM | | Not sure how big a tire your Pista can handle but I like these - 700x30c Kenda Cross Supremes. You can usually find them cheap on ebay. They are heavy but very aggressive tires. Kind of remind me of some of the Specialized tread designs. |
| Go big! | DT Jul 25, 2003 9:33 AM | | Have to check how big I can go when I get home, it's a track bike and I know track bike geometry usually doesn't have a lot of space, but it's worth a shot. Thanks.

| Most CX specific tires | Steve-O Jul 25, 2003 10:55 AM | | Most CX specific tires run from 700x28c to 700x35c (with Ritchey and some others making +40c tires). Michelins tend to be a little wider then stated (ie - their Michelin Muds, a popular CX tire, are listed at 30c but actually fit more like a 35c tire).
Have fun! I hope you use some easier gearing if your going to take the Pista offroad! |
| Speaking of Cross tires... | PROGRE-SS Jul 25, 2003 10:59 AM | | ...does anyonw know if any companies make a cross tire in a 27" size? I've got an older Miele road bike that may take on singlespeed or fixed cross/road duty in the near future. The only 27" tires I could find are road only.

| Yep | DT Jul 25, 2003 11:26 AM | | I only know of one cause I used it on my old road/cross bike that I turned into a fixie. I ran Tioga Bloodhounds and they worked pretty good, of course, since it's the only one I could try, I have nothing to compare it against. Made cornering a lot easier, that's for sure.

Not sure of the model name, but they handle good.. |
