Did my first race on the Spicer today!(13 posts)

Did my first race on the Spicer today!Fast Freddy

It's not my first race - just on the Spicer.... I moved up to 5th place this time ..... better than ever before on the Giant SS. Has to be the bike! Kind of funny when you pass others out there on their geared bikes... I even ended up passing a Karate Monkey! I need to do someting to mine - it looked almost the same!

The Spicer seemed to be faster - as well as a little more picky on the trail (I attribute that to me not used to the rigid fork). A couple places I put a pounding on that rigid Ti fork and it took it without any problems. Impressed there. Ended up getting in a fight with a tree in one section and bent a Hayes lever... guess I should upgrade to some Carbon levers for it???

Oh well - good riding!

Are the Razor Rock levers worth the dough? I don't know of anyone around me who carries them or even uses them?? Vs. just replacement lever - or if I find enough $$ for the Hayes carbon levers? I appreciate ALL YOUR HELP! Your package left here on Saturday with your caps and a little something special in it (hope you don't already have this thing)!

Thanks!
Fred

How do you assemble 2 new bikes, ride every night, race, while working out of town. That's good. Rich

Hmm... the 2 bikes were put together during a mostly rainging week so no weekday riding. When I could I did manage to get out for urban assault rides in the neighborhood. This is the only race I've done in the last month. Working out of town- where did that come from?? Everyone knows I'm a stay at home dad! Heck - I'm working right now!

FF
My mistake, sounded like you were working out of townjedoaks
