| Finally got my VULTURE! | ClayB Sep 22, 2003 8:47 PM | | My frame is finally here. Wade built me a beast to withstand my 315lbs of lovin'! To make it stronger thicker wall tubing and larger diameters were used. Obviously, an extra top tube was added. The seat tube is extra thick for the top 6 inches and the chainstays are from a tandem manufacturer. A new and as of yet completely uinque seatstay wishbone also makes its debut. Chainstays are 17in. Head tube and seat tube angle are 71 degrees parallel effective top tube is 25. 31.8mm seat tube collar for a 28.6mm seat post tell the tale of the seat tube's thickness.
I've decided to really fix this baby up nice.
Hats off to "The Man" in Bend, Oregon! |

|  Wow!!! | striker Sep 23, 2003 12:40 AM | | A couple things I noticed;
Wades' welds on this frame look nice and tight. A couple of his early frames had welds that were, how do you say? Not as nice as these...?
The frame looks strong. What fork are you going to use? Cranks? BB?
Keep us posted for sure... |
| W-W-W-WOW! | Sparty Sep 23, 2003 5:18 AM | | Sweet! And it even came complete with decals! Can hardly wait to see it built up. Congrats -- we know you've been champin' at the bit for a long time.

| re: Finally got my VULTURE! | weather Sep 23, 2003 7:14 AM | | for some reason i don't feel it's a big frame at all, until i read the 25 in toptube.
I guess it can only mean that the geometry is well adjusted. |
| re: Finally got my VULTURE! | nalax Sep 23, 2003 7:24 AM | | Nice. It's great that Wade is willing to go the extra mile in designing and building a frame that's beyond the norm. And you get to ride a really nice SS!
And if you get bored with it, sell it to me and I'll have Wade remove the top-top tube, miter the down tube and mid-tube for a new head tube, lower the chain stays and it will fit me perfectly.
Ride hard! |
| WOW! | LakeRaven Sep 23, 2003 7:36 AM | | That Rocks! Keep us posted on how she rides. |
|  Nice... | aosty Sep 23, 2003 7:52 AM | | Very nice - that's what full custom is all about.
How long did the whole process take? |

| Nice... | ClayB Sep 23, 2003 9:59 AM | | I ordered it back in July, but Wade told me it would take a bit longer due to some of the different additions and a few frame classes he was taking. |
|  Sweet lookin' frame... What color is that? I like it!(nm) | soulFire Sep 23, 2003 9:21 AM | | :-)~ |
| Sweet lookin' frame... What color is that? I like it!(nm) | ClayB Sep 23, 2003 10:01 AM | | British Racing Green! The camera flash makes it look a bit lighter, but it's much darker to the eye. |
