What to do about MS patch emails (way OT)veelz
Sep 22, 2003 10:19 PM
I keep getting a bunch of emails from "microsoft" with attached "patches" and another group of stuff that emails were returned undeliverable. I am not the most savy of computer guys, and everyone here has been helpful for other issues. Does anyone have any help for what to do? I use yahoo for my email and am sick and tired of losing 50% of my space twice a day to these @$$holes.

thanks for any advice,
Scott

The bounced emails mean that your computer is sending out emails with your return address. There was a passion thread last week about it with (pain in the ass) directions to remove it. Best of luck.

I usually find it easier to reinstall the OS rather than try to clean a nasty virus like that one, but that's just me. I don't have anything stored on my computer that I care about.

All my good stuff is on a linux server, so no virii. 8^)

NAI has a stand alone removal tool for this virus, available here.
