paging thephat: question about '04 Unitbeen_jamin

Saw a post where you commented on having new Unit frames at your shop. Is the geometry well-suited for using a Marzocchi Marathon SL (105mm)?

I see that some Kona XC hardtails have 100mm forks, and hope the geommetry is consistent. I'd ride an 18", I believe... my FitStick inseam is 81cm and I ride a 17.5" Bianchi BuSS with a ~22.8in top tube now.

The Unit geometry is designed for an 80mm travel fork, same as the Explosif. It would probably be fine with 105 though - there's not that much difference.

With an 80 mm fork on it it, the static head angle is around 70 degrees. With a 105 mm fork, it will be around 69 degrees. The bike would be very stable a speed, but would suffer in the slow speed tight stuff, and maybe a little on climbs. There would also be an added stress on the head tube. It could probably handle it, but these things should be considered.
