| NorthWet Winter Mini Gathering... | shiggy©® Nov 13, 2003 12:23 PM | | ... Saturday, Jan 3, 2004. Our annual winter regional group ride at WhyPass near Eugene OR. Mostly trail. Usually wet and sloppy (these are mtb/motorcycle - mostly mtb - routes and hold up great in the wet). Up to 15 miles of fun stuff followed by great Mexican food in Veneta (no-host). Then a tour of the
i shiggy Shack
(bike wash and showers available). |

| I would say "Yes." and paging Kyle "Blowout"! | IDM Nov 13, 2003 10:29 PM | | Dear Eugene folks,
I got a spousal permission for the day. So, can I join that party?
Hey Bob,
At this moment, I would say Yes I like to have a ride. But isn't Joel also coming? (with HIS one-speed bike possiblly?)
Kyle, are you in? Reply here or call me sometime.
If so we all should travel together.
Dan,
I am sorry to hear your loss. I guess this year wasn't a good year for you eh?
Ken-
I hope I can complete this project by then. |
| Ken, I should be able to give you a ride if Bob's van is full | GlowBoy Nov 14, 2003 6:35 PM | | I'm sure I'll have some kind of motor vehicle with bike attachment capability by then.
You're right, it has been a bit of a weird year. Got hurt in a car accident, cat died, unemployed 5 months, and now car stolen. Still, I have a great new dog, a wonderful wife, good health aside from my injury, a nice condo (sold the old house for a good profit), a good job again, and a giant tax refund coming my way in January. In June Sparty and I did the most awesome bike trip I've ridden in my life, and I'm the proud owner of a brand-spanking-new Monkey. So who am I to complain? My problems are pretty minor compared to a lot of people's. |
| That's the spirit! | IDM Nov 14, 2003 9:50 PM | | Dan,
As an expert whiner, I think that your attitude seems to be the best way to go. The best revenge is live happily.
I am not sure exactly what is going to happen. We have a little time till the ride. By next month or so, the plan should be more concrete. Still, we probably should do as much as carpooling possible.
I assume we are going to run into each other on Sunday (Nov 16th), right? I know that if I have a shoppiing list, I will not find any of them. I just cross my finger and find something. My motto of getting stuff is "I don't look for stuff, things come to me."

| Me and My Monkey ... | GlowBoy Nov 13, 2003 10:03 PM | | will be there.
Sounds like this is the official shopwarming too .. can't wait to see that.
Hopefully by then I will have the ability to transport bikes again. Believe it or not, the night after our ride at Stella, my car was stolen. Yes, that 14 year old Subeataru with 205,000 miles on it. OK, a break-in I could comprehend, but stealing the damn car outright? Why? When my building's parking lot is brimming with Mercedeses and alarm-free SUVs? Just goes to show you, criminals are stupid. On the other hand, it was Halloween weekend so maybe a logical explanation is too much to ask.
Anyway, looking forward to the mini gathering. While in Veneta, I just might have to make a quick detour to Secret House, my favorite Oregon winery. |
| Everybody's got something to hide | Sparty Nov 13, 2003 10:17 PM | | Sounds like in your case it's your car. Hope you can make it GB! The shiggy shack is only moments away from Secret House.

| I posted this on the Passion board, too... | shiggy©® Nov 14, 2003 12:53 AM | | ... JimC from Vancouver BC says he is coming down (cool!) and free agent from PDX but otherwise it has half as many views as "our" post. I guess they think I'm weird or something. 8^P |
