Anyone seen these hubs before?jw25

I just picked up a set of these hubs off Ebay (the pic is stolen - mine are gold, but the same otherwise) for a song. I was thinking about replacing the rear axle, and using them as SS hubs.
They're fairly unique in that they use a cassette cog, not a freewheel, but the freehub body isn't removeable, as far as I can see, and the cog is held in place by a lockring.
Current Shimano DX cogs fit, which is great since that's what I'm using now.
So, I was planning to respace the hub slightly, when I replace the axle, to shift the cog over to the right a touch. I want to be sure the chain clears a wide tire, and that I can fit a reasonably sized ring. Right now, the rear is spaced for 110mm dropouts, so I need to add 25mm of spacers total - so the left side axle may have a fairly long piece of axle unsupported.
I'm pretty light, and have never bent or broken an axle before. There's always a first time, though.
Also, anyone know if these have any sort of collectability? My set is completely new, never laced, very minor shopwear to the anodizing. I did take them apart to replace the grease, which had completely dried out, but aside from that, they're NOS.
Thanks for any advice.
I have the newer DX hubs...ss-nyc

I use the newer DX hubs on my Country Road Bob. It was easy to respace from 110mm to 135mm but I "added" an equal amount of spacers on each side becasue I wanted a dishless rear wheel. The chainilne is adjustable from 43mm to 45mm through the use of 2 different types of DX spacers. My crank was rather tight into the chainstays even at a 45mm chainline but I also am using a 42T ring up front for mostly road use. I think if you use a 38T or smaller up front with the 45mm chailine you should not have any crank clearance problems. I used 700x42 tires and never had any problems with clearance.

DX sprocket spacer, fits between cog and lockring:

Shimano DX Serrated lockring:

hope this helps!
Correction: cog is held by a snap-ring. No threads. nm.jw25
