Rotors for Avidsroadrunner

Hi All

I need to change my rotors for Avid Mec. Can I use any 6 bolts 165mm rotor? Example can I put Hope rotors with my Avids?

Thanks

32seventeen and I have talked about this, he is actually using gothic rotors on has avids. you should be able to so long as the bolt pattern is the same and the outer effective diameter is the same.

You also need to make sure that the replacement rotor is not thicker than the one it is replacing, also the amount of braking surface on the rotor may be more, but not less than the original.

Most stock 6" rotors are 1.8mm, but the Avids will handle a 2.0mm rotor no problem. Fact is, Avid's 203mm rotors are 2.0 and are mated up with the exact same calipers.

Your warning on brake track thickness is a good one. I recall some early Shimano looked pretty slim, but I don't know for sure.
