help me get started on a SS, build kit or completejbiker
Jan 16, 2004 9:44 AM
Hello everyone,
I've been riding and racing my stumpy fsr for the last 2 years. but recently bought a SS road bike for the city commute/errands . (NYC) It is awesome, it brings back memories of the good old days even though I'm 29.
anyway, looking to get a SS mountain bike to ride/race in. looking at Surly's and kona, not into KHS solo. I'll probably throw on a Skareb so it's gotta take a 1 1/8" up front. any experiences with either or the cannondale ss, and where's the best place to buy a complete or build kits. my budget is under a grand - possible? any help is appreciated.
thanks,
jbiker

very reasonable prices on their SS models. bianchi makes complete ss bikes.
you could also buy a surly frame and build it up your self, but thats always more expensive.
plus, the bianchi has a nice parts spec.
2004 SASS looks cool. ( Shiny Ass Single Speed. )
it should prolly run a you about $850 (msrp) or so.
another option is to try to find some older used bianchi ss bikes out there. many have been made, and in many different models and materials, they're likely to be cheap too.
