| Leapin' Leipheimer! | DeRanger Sep 30, 2001 9:42 PM | | Great to see an American podium at La Vuelta! What a super TT by Casero, too.
USPS had three riders in the top ten finishers overall - not a bad showing by any stretch.
(And please, no crap about roadies. Skinny tires or fat, it's all good.)

| Well, I'm a Canuck... | celly Sep 30, 2001 9:52 PM | | Howzabout Roland Green winning the 2001 World Cup XC overall AND the World Championships, on fat tires, nonetheless? :-) |
| A great year for Trek-sponsored racers... | DeRanger Oct 1, 2001 6:15 AM | | ...on and off-road - TdF, World Cup, La Vuelta.
Green had an amazing season (especially after those two frustrating flats...) and I was glad to see him get the rainbow jersey. For what it's worth, I did honor his accomplishment by whistling "O Canada!" while riding my Rocky Mountain...
Levi was the first American to podium in the 56 years of La Vuelta a Espana - the highest previous finish by an American was fourth, I think. His contract with USPS is up this season, and this will help his signing chances with any team - though I hope he stays with Postal.

| Green has almost come out of nowhere.... | celly Oct 1, 2001 6:46 AM | | To be the best rider on the men's circuit. He really seemed to take off after the silver at last year's worlds. We saw him podium at the last race at Canmore in '00 and it sure seemed like he was going to have a great '01, which he did. I really felt bad for him with the 2 flats, but he came through in the end. Will be interesting to see if he can repeat in '02.
