Howdy all. I'm in Southern IL for work, and a coworker and I are thinking about heading to the Berryman mtb fest this weekend. I've heard it's a great time and we want to check out the festivities. I've been unable to find much info on the web and I'd like to know the details.

A) What time and where do we need to meet up on Sat (& how do we get there). We'll be coming from about 4 hours away.

B) Where is everyone camping and how do we get there?

C) There are 2 of us and the car is not big enough to sleep in. Anyone got spare tent floor? We can pay with beer if you'd like...

D) Is there a web link?

Thanks for the help and look forward to meeting some fellow Passionites!

Iggy,

I'll be there. Ken (in KC) was planning on attending, but something came up and he can't go.

I am leaving tomorrow morning and will be camping at the Berryman Campground (not the Brazil Creek campsite). Here is a web-link trail map.

http://www.granadacyclery.com/berryman_trail.htm

At the top of the page there is a link on how to get to Berryman from St. Louis.

There are about 15 riders from KC, and 25 riders from Jefferson City that are planning to be there for a Saturday ride. There is no "set time" for the ride to begin. I expect people will depart in their own groups. I'll be riding with 3-4 other KC riders and we will be leaving the trailhead around 10am I suspect. We are not a fast group, so we will try to leave ahead of the hammers of the group.

As far as a tent goes, the guy I'm riding with has an extra 3-man tent. I'll make sure we bring it along for you guys. Your challenge will be to find me. I ride a green Voodoo Bakka hardtail, and my buddy John rides a blue Jekyl. Just ask around for the Kansas City Earthriders group, and you will find us. My name is Dave Smith. It shouldn't be too difficult to hook up. I can introduce you to some riders of your skill level, or you can ride with us.

You can email me directly at tanner7937@home.com

A couple more things to consider: There is no drinking water or showers available at the campsite. I think there is a convenience store in the area for ice and water. Also, it is supposed to be in the 30's at night, so make sure you bring a warm sleeping bag, or lots of blankets.

Regards,

Dave (in KC) Smith

I actually just talked to John D, the Eastern MO IMBA rep. He's bringing an extra tent. We're coming from about 4 hrs away, shooting to meet up at the Berryman CG between 10 & 11am Sat. That was per John's recomendation.

I hope to see a few folks from KC that I know. I'm not too good with names, but I know Michael Cleveland from back in the day, and I know some Bikesource guys thru a mutual friend. I do know some of the Boulder IMBA folks as well, but it doesn't sound like they'll be there.

We'll be driving a red Cavalier 2dr rental with IN plates. I'm on a black Homegrown, and my buddy is on a polished Giant hardtail.

Sounds like fun!
