I went riding last night, and it was spooky as hell. I'd love to ride with some people, but there is never anybody there.

My thoughts:

A regular Wed night 7ish ride at Callahan/Vietnam/Leominster/anywhere in that area. Actually, vietnam might be a blood bath for night riding.
sorry brudda...BostonBullit

The Fells' Mountain Bike loop is a fantastic night ride! When I lived on Dover St in Davis, I used to ride that all the time.

Did you grow up in Somerville?

born in boston and lived in somerville for 24 of my 26 years on this dustball (spent the first 2 in cambridge). I'm up by porter sq meslef. family has lived in the house for like 50yrs, and I get a good rent rate from grandma ;)

I think the fells would make a good night ride, but I would be afraid of nature nazis or drunks I think. I should try night riding...it's a whole area of expensive equipment that I haven't tried yet ;) (somewhere my wife just winced in pain)

I lived in MA till late 1987 and don't remember that one.

What are its trails like?
I don't believe so....TNJED®

but I could be wrong. The trails are decent. Some single track, mostly double track. Mild elevations, with some really fast spots. A couple nice single shots through big fields. I ride it mostly because it's local, but it is nice and mellow for night riding.

I ride there fairly often in the early AM. Some things you might want to be aware of:

1) Since it's a state park, night riding is not allowed.

2) Marlborough cops like to coop (nap) in the parking lot, which is a problem when combined with #1.

3) The lady who lives on the farm in the middle of the park has 3 Dobermans. 2 are cool, one is pretty aggressive, but hasn't bitten me yet.
