Great Ride Last Night(7 posts)

Great Ride Last Nightjedi
Oct 26, 2001 4:18 AM
Thursday night is ride night for Ryno-Gold, Big D and I the only members of the PCB ride club. As usual we went out to durham forest and I led us through our usual trails hooking things up a little different to keep it interesting. My new setup of a shorter stem and risers on the HT works like a dream.. The wind was howling but in the trees it was pretty tame. Luckily my passion has got me all the right gear for fall ontario riding so I was feeling great (best purchase of the week was these Louis Garneau thinsulate lined gloves kept my hands toasty).. Riding along we saw tree fall about 10 feet from us (yep it made a sound "crack").. Then we hear this russling and look as a porcupine was climbing a tree about 5 feet away. I finally figured out Ryno's wheelie to pogo log over style, you gotta see this guy go over even the biggest logs with the greatest ease, it's a really unexplainable technique you just got to see it but it's smooth and after riding behind him all summer I finally got it. Rode from 5-7pm without the lights then headed back to the forest center for some "treats", some Bob Marley tunes and to strap on the lights. This was only our 3rd big night ride of the year but boy am I getting to LOVE night riding. So much fun. Out and about goofing around for about 2 hours in the dark. I wish I had a digital camera or a scanner so I could share my pics with all of you but the time will come. Anyways it was as usual a great ride.. Hope everyone else had a good one or has plans for a good one this weekend..

Peace

420 has a variety of meanings depending on who you ask but all meanings revolve around smoking ganja.. It's a time to toke up so when it hits 4:20 pm or am you best have one ready to spark. April 20th is a day long celebration of ganja smoking. I've morphed my own interpretation of 420 to mean that if you put in a day of hard work or just work and come home and get all your shit done when you finally sit down and smoke your first fatty of the day that's your own 420. Myths say that it originated in california with high school kids getting off school at 4pm and meeting at 4:20 to smoke one, others say that it was california penal code for a pot bust but that is incorrect. Anyways that's what it means and I smoke but I'm not one to care if anyone does or doesn't smoke just as long as no one gives me grief. Below is a quote from the Ben Harper tune "Burn One Down" that sums it all up

"If you don't like my fire then don't come around cause I'm gonna burn one down

yes I'm gonna burn one down

my choice is what I choose to do and if I'm causing no harm it shouldn't bother you

your choice is who you choose to be and if you're causin' no harm then you're alright with me "
