Should I buy this bike (from SuperGo)?OT Boy

Never dealt with SuperGo before, but this looks like a sweet deal...

Well, with all that's going on with Schwinn lately......celly

You might wait for it to go on sale for even cheaper at Wal Mart. Looks like a decent bike. No idea if it's a decent value.

Not for DH racing, anyway.

If you're looking for an XC ride that is a screamer of a deal, though.
As long as you accept that...DeRanger

...if the frame gets damaged you're not likely to get it replaced. For the money you're spending, though, that's still not a bad deal.

What do you think, OT Boy???Harovore

If you find a bike at Supergo that you want, and you can literally buy it at 40 to 50% discount, what do you think?

Did you also see the Schwinn Rocket dualie (top of their dualie XC line) for a mere $1,200 or $1,300? It originally sold for over $2,000.

I was also looking at their KHS FXT Pro, usual retails for $1,800, now on sale for $999. Comes with Grimeca (Italian version of Shimano) dual disc brakes, 4" travel front and rear, etc. In design, it looks very much like the Specialized Stumpjumper XC dualie or Intense 4-bar linkage dualie (sorry, forgot the model names).

They also have the entire Schwinn line at blow-out prices. Check their Homegrown hardtail, other Rockets (dualies), etc.

If I didn't want to buy a Santa Cruz Superlight with all of the bells and whistles, I would've already bought that KHS FXT Pro for under $1,000.

I've never had a problem with Supergo, but then again I don't deal with their mail order business. I drive to their Santa Monica store.
Great ride...MarkMc

I have a '99 Homegrown Pro frame, the rest is a custom build. I love my ride although I've been getting funny comments from riders lately due to the Schwinn name going to pot.

I had a '95 Schwinn 951 which was the same geometry and loved it also.

It all depends on how much $ you want to spend and how long you've been into the sport. This bike will last you for a while.
Why not spend $100 moremartini

and get the Pro? Better parts for the $$ imo.
I think they only have 19" and 21" of those availableOT Boy

I need a 17" which they do have in the Comp model.
I bought that exact bike and..greg1

it is the best damn bike I have ever owned. I had to change a few parts but no big deal, changed the stem, handlebars, seat and tires. Other than that it is stock and I will upgrade parts as they break.

There are some warranty issues with the frame and schwinn being owned by pacific if something breaks, but from what I have found that frame is bomber so I am not to worried about it.

I have owned it for over a month now and have yet to get on my FS bike, it is that much fun to ride. Anyway, that being said I cannont wait to ride this weekend a trail I have been working on will be done in the morning. Yee haa

peace

A month isn't exactly a good measure of whether a frame is "bomber" or not. I would be worried about buying a frame/bike that would not be warrantied if it broke.

It really depends on your riding style. If you think you might break it, it's probably not the thing to do. If you don't think you will, you probably can't go wrong. I'm thinking about the Rocket 88 myself.
