So, I saw Bob Dylan in concert last night... (11 posts)
| So, I saw Bob Dylan in concert last night... | frog Oct 26, 2001 7:03 AM | | What can I say. I was quite impressed. Seeing such a legend perform was something I won't soon forget. The whole show really hit me when he performed "Like a Rolling Stone" followed by "Forever Young". It was amazing. I was also quite impressed with how tight the band was. I will admit that alot of his lyrics were hard to understand (big suprise), but the message came through loud and clear.
MTB content...uh...what kind of bike would Bob ride? |
| What kind of bike? | cush Oct 26, 2001 7:26 AM | | something slow with lots of scratches!
Only really like one song of his: "Neighborhood Bully." Saw him live when he toured with the Dead and was put to sleep. I see him as an acquired taste if you did not grow up in the sixties. |
| Not a fan, either. | FP Oct 26, 2001 7:58 AM | | But you've
i got
to give 'Blood On The Tracks' a listen.

| Saw Dylan and Paul Simon 3 summers ago... | TheWanderer Oct 26, 2001 7:58 AM | | Fourth of July in Milwaukee. Such a good show. You know a concert's good if it can make you laugh and cry and by the time you leave you can't even speak because your voice is gone.
As for the bike, I could only see him on an old school Klunker or something like that. With a milk crate tied to the rear rack.

| I saw him at Umass Amherst... | Locoman Oct 26, 2001 8:06 AM | | I saw him at Umass Amherst years ago, he was drunk as sh|t. His voice is usually a bit odd, but he slurred...and stumbled -he was a wreck..
I was pretty much in the same boat, but I was in the crowd. |
| I saw him at Umass Amherst...--me too... | nodima Oct 26, 2001 8:43 AM | | he drove me to the Hatch to start drinking!!! That was awful screeching...
Spring of '91 wasn't it? |
| Yeah, Spring of '91 | Locoman Oct 26, 2001 9:06 AM | | Wish I was back as an undergrad, but it's kind of nice not being poor. |
| condiment sandwiches and ramen | nodima Oct 26, 2001 11:11 AM | | Totally agree, it is also nice not come home to an apartment that is 38 degrees!!! "No ma, I can't afford heat"...Mikes westview kept me warm.
We had a situation where someone stole a bunch of burgers and dogs after a bbq that spring, which left us with a ton of buns and onions, relish, ketchup and mustard. Born were condiment sandwiches.
Lets see, crappy bike with time to ride versus nice bike, and no time. |
| Thank god for night rides.. | Locoman Oct 26, 2001 11:36 AM | | I can't remember, was Mikes Westview that bar that had all you can eat (while the food lasted) for something like $3 or $5 on Friday nights? |
| Thank god for night rides.. | nodima Oct 29, 2001 5:42 AM | | True.. Mikes had the Thurs night Buffett for 2$ all you can eat...May have been Friday eve as well, but I know for fact about Thursday. Sad that it is no longer there. (served one too many minor, apparently) |
