MTBR gets credit for the hits and that means more $$$ from advertising to help keep the site free. I make sure to click an ad at least once a day.
Don't you think Ellsworth is wise to this?Duncan!

I think "page views", "impressions", "eyeballs" etc are a pretty much discredited marketing metrics. Unless Ellsworth sees some cash as a result of your clicking, these measurements are distortion and mean squat. You should be asking people to buy Ellsworths instead (which I think is the point of the original ad).

Good point...Drewpy

I don't know much about the game either. However, it seems that Ellsworth is on a huge marketing push right now. Part of evaluating the effectiveness of the ad is to guage how many eyes see it. Magazine ads can use subscribers, newstand sales and some other +/- ratios to come close. I know very little about internet advertising but the hits that are received from the MTBR ad are counted and evaluated against other ads they have out there. While MTBR may not be paid from each click, if there are consistantly more hits from this site, Ellsworth would be more likely to keep advertising here.

Again, I know very little about this. Since I don't really use marketplace, I just want to help out where I can. If someone more knowledgable about the subject would enlighten me, I would appreciate it.
Ellsworth bikes kick butt!Obi-John

I bought an Ellsworth "Aeon Isis" as a direct result of this website, after a 200 mile round-trip drive in order to go for a 5 minute demo ride around the parking lot. It was love at first ride. While deciding whether to go clipless, I also managed to do a zero mph slow tiltover and drew blood in 2 places before I even paid for the bike. The salesdude yelled back into the store that he had managed to bloody the first customer of the day :-).

I love this hobby.

Obi-John (Yep, I went with the clipless.)
