I usually ride brown/Prieto or Brown/Burton and have seen him on a few occasions. I've heard of all the crap people dish out on him, but I personally have never had a bad experience with him, he always says hello and seems polite enough.
This one time, some friends and I shuttled the Gabrielino ride from Red Box down to JPL, we ran into him just south of Ken Burton and once he found out we were shuttlers, he got a litlle turned off.

I said "hi" to both of them, and both were friendly enough to turn to acknowledge me, nod their heads, and say, "Hey, how's it going?"
Maybe the guy's a little tired of people calling him an asshole, or looking to find reasons to call him an asshole. I mean, do you REALLY know him well enough to call him that? |

I've met him a couple of times. Last September at an IMBA fund raiser and a couple of times at various NCS races. Although he wouldn't know me from the next guy, he seemed nice enough. Polite and fairly down to earth.

The time before that was a Fisher X-Caliber. The time before that, I think it may have been a Diamondback with a Rock Shox and cantis.
