| Directions to the Salmon Falls New Years Day ride. | Finch Platte Dec 31, 2001 10:10 AM | | Gui asked for directions, so I thought it might be a good idea to post directions for anyone else who's interested.
Directions are for those coming from the Sacramento area. If you're coming from the Stockton/Lodi area, take Grant Line Rd.- it's quicker than 50.
I've attached a map- the star is El Dorado Hills. You want to take Hwy 50 East out of Sacramento (towards Tahoe) and exit on El Dorado Hills Blvd exit (about 45 minutes out of Sac). Go under the freeway and head North on EH Blvd (going South is Latrobe Rd). El Dorado Hills Blvd. changes to Salmon Falls Rd along the way, but you won't make any right or left turns. Go about 8-9 miles. On the left, you'll see a big dirt parking lot, and a sign saying Falcon Crest. This is where the bulk of the riders will be. However, we are going to do a slightly different route at the beginning (Sweetwater), so keep going past Falcon Crest for a little ways (1/2 mile?). You'll do a sweeping downhill turn to the left, cross a small cement bridge and just after the cement bridge is a small dirt parking lot on the left. Hopefully, that's where we'll be a little before 11 a.m. (the ride starts at 11).
Post or eme if you have questions.
