...plus bonuses? if not then i guess i'll just have to pass on this "opportunity".

Non. (willing to relocate for a decent raise...)
Yes...AS

The Sales Manager position starts at $60K PLUS commission, which ranges from $25K-$55K, depending on how good you are.

Buuut... I did not like your sarcasm in regards to the "opportunity" which I am truly offering anyone seriously interested. So don't bother responding. Have a nice day

:)
Damn Nonny...Hollis

How could you Blow such a prime "opportunity"?

Guess its back to sheering sheep for you eh?

Keep those clippers sharp, maybe another Golden "opportunity" will be posted here shortly.

(was really hoping to know Somebody with a few job opportunities at Crunch Fitness).
some help inside...Nonny

...like many people i know, the words plus commission (usually with "typical" ranges included), do not count for much (i'll believe a claimed commission when i see the actual commission checks). I asked if the annual salary was in excess of $80k/yr and you replied that it was but by my count $60k is NOT greater than $80k so please don't try to pretend that it is.

Non. (might have been "seriously interested" but, oh well...)
And thus, another great career selling gym memberships ends...LDF

...ends before it starts.

(Picturing Nonny slapping himself repeatidly in the head while repeating "stupid stupid stupid!!!")

Just a guess AS, if Nonny had been white, you would have hired him right away, right??? Dont deny it!!!

Decent raise?Biking Viking

Don't look at the salary - look at your bottom line.

BV (Pays the equivalent of an Ellsowrth ID frame in rent every month)
thus the need for a "decent raise"...Nonny

...ya see, i'm figuring an extra 20 grand or so a year might just about offset the higher cost of living out in the bay area. =)

Non. (the junk mail business just doesn't pay as well as it should these days...)
An extra 20G won't be near enough!!!Brad Trent

I love San Francisco...I nearly moved there 6 years ago I loved it so much...we put an offer on a loft South of Market...then we woke up! I did a quick cost analysis compared to what it was costing me to live in NYC, and SF was almost 50% MORE! Business, liability, workers comp, auto and home insurance are outta this world...regular cost of living items (food, gas, utilities, etc) are a freekin' joke, State taxes (OK, that's for ALL of CA, not just SF...) make New York's look like a bargain, commercial rents were actually HIGHER than NYC (now that the dot-coms are bust I wonder if that's gone down?) and then there was the thought of starting over in business at the advanced age of 36...

I bought a house in Connecticut instead, AND, I bought an apartment in NYC to use as a working office...it was still cheaper than San Francisco! And I don't have to worry about Marin Headlands cops nailing me with a radar gun as I ride the singletrack!

BeeT's

PS: Anecdotal evidence on how expensive SF is: We just had friends sell their flat at Steiner & Vallejo. They bought the 1800 Sq Ft single floor apartment (fixer-upper) in 1991 for $160,000...they just sold it for 1.8 MILLION!!!
Decent raise?LDF

...all the smokin' hotties you'll meet.
a computer programmer working in a gym?Howard Roark
Jan 31, 2002 12:43 AM
Unheard of! However, even at 60k, that's more than a lot of programmers make. But then again, you'd know much better than I would.

what kind of programming did you do again? mainframes, or something like that?

HR
mainframes it is...Nonny
Jan 31, 2002 7:37 AM
...COBOL, CICS, DB2, SQL, JCL, etc...

though i have sort of moved on from merely programming into the glorified realms of project management so there's still plenty of room left for future pay increases.

And besides, if computers don't pan out for me i can always fall back on some of my previous career experience and go into collections work again (Repo Man!). Would that help me fit in at the gym better ya think? =)

Non. (wondering if Roaring Mouse has any need for an experienced mainframe guy...)

"The use of Cobol cripples the mind. Its teaching, therefore, should be regarded as a criminal offense. "

ugh, cobol, never seen it, never want to ;o)

See it every day, don't want to eitherIchabod

I never wanted to do this in the first place!

I... I wanted to be... A LUMBERJACK!

Leaping from tree to tree! As they float down the mighty rivers

of British Columbia! With my best girl by my side!

The Larch!

The Pine!

The Giant Redwood tree!

The Sequoia!

The Little Whopping Rule Tree!

We'd sing! Sing! Sing!

Oh, I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay,

I sleep all night and I work all day.
Suspenders and a bra??!!?scorcher

LOL!
If you knew Nonny...Hulk
Jan 31, 2002 6:58 AM
you'd not EVEN think of offering the job to him. A smart mouth, immature skinny runt is not the person you want working at a gym
i'll take that as a compliment...Nonny
Jan 31, 2002 7:45 AM
...lessee here:

smart mouth = well spoken, eloquent

immature = young at heart, enthusiastic

skinny = slender, streamlined

runt = (damfino, how does someone who is 5'11" qualify as a "runt"?)

looks like 3 outa 4, i'll go with that. =)

Non. (wandering off to make sure Hulk is on all the latest junk mail lists...)
