| Doesn't your camera have infra red? | kristian Jan 31, 2002 10:33 AM | | Or did you try it and get poor results? |
| Nightvision. Yes. | Pete. Jan 31, 2002 10:39 AM | | I haven't tried it with the helmet mount (need to cut out part of the case). I also think the "feel" of the low lux footage conveys the mood of nightriding better than the artificial green of the nightvision shots.
If the video looks really dark it's most likely an issue with monitor quality/monitor settings.
Pete |
| That's probably the case... | kristian Jan 31, 2002 10:48 AM | | This monitor is kinda crappy. Too bad I don't have high speed access at home. |
| I found it boring. | China Camper Jan 31, 2002 10:39 AM | | I have enjoyed some of your Downieville and Tahoe footage, though. |
| Yeah, I struggled with this one. | Pete. Jan 31, 2002 11:47 AM | | I only had 9 minutes of raw footage to work with since all of the faster descents/drops/silly antics in traffic were all blurry due to a condensation/focus problem that I had.
I plan on doing a few more on more interesting terrain.
Pete |
| The music suited the video... | atheist infidel Feb 1, 2002 10:05 AM | | downright monotonous. Liked your other videos, including acompanying soundtracks, but this new one will not be replayed. |
| Nice.... | Topher Jan 31, 2002 10:50 AM | | I thought it was pretty cool. Almost surreal. The music goes with the flow as well.

| Bwaah! Spooky | KriZkit Jan 31, 2002 10:52 AM | | My work computer has no audio, I wonder what I'm missing. Kept me mesmerized anyway! Nice logo btw. |
| Awesome! | mtncranker Jan 31, 2002 10:58 AM | | You really caught the feel of night riding! And the footbridge shot was downright freaky! Excellent vid!
Nice effects on the "petefagerlin.com" lead-in. |
| very nice | little b Jan 31, 2002 11:05 AM | | and inspiring. i was thinking of bagging my ride for tonight since it's raining (again). but now i have to go. |
| Thanks! I like.... | CraigH Jan 31, 2002 11:19 AM | | I guess you were finally able to drag Marc out for a ride.
Planing any night riding segments for North Shore Moderate 2? |
| That would be a good thing. | Pete. Jan 31, 2002 11:51 AM | | Tight quarters at night seem to work best.
Marc is leaving today to visit/ride/race with the HFR boys (and ride Patrick's hillbilly stunts).
Not surprisingly, they are renting a 15 passenger van to carry two kegs and a bunch of singlespeeds to the Fontana single speed Dh race.
Pete |
| Is he taking cameras? | CraigH Jan 31, 2002 12:16 PM | | Would be interesting to see what the HFR dudes are up to in their neck of the woods. (Cue Dueling Banjos soundtrack...) |
| Soundtrack info? | McCracken Jan 31, 2002 12:00 PM | | I'm not up on my music. I got excited when they released "Thriller" on SACD if that tells you anything. I think your next night ride video should have "Thriller" as the soundtrack song. Spooky!
McCracken |
| Old tunes. | Pete. Jan 31, 2002 12:06 PM | | Stereo MCs (one hit wonders?).
Pete |
| Two Hit wonders | Braids Jan 31, 2002 2:39 PM | | IIRC, they released some stuff since then I believe they are or just one of them is doing movie soundtracks now too. |
| Very relaxing | cleatgrrl Jan 31, 2002 12:10 PM | | Mmmmmm niteride. It's weird, the adrenaline I feel when I ride at nite is not forthcoming when I watch someone riding at nite. After watching that, my blood pressure feels lower, and I need a nap. Not that it was boring, but I think it's something you enjoy, so thinking about it and watching it lowers your stress level. Ahhh. |
| *new job time* | JimC Jan 31, 2002 12:14 PM | | 31 minutes to download at work. Unacceptable. I'm outta here, Jim |

| A suggestion... | K-Zero Jan 31, 2002 12:48 PM | | I think you should cut the length of special effect intro from 20 sec down to around 10.
Awesome video though, thx for posting as always.
K-Zero |
| Yes. | Pete. Jan 31, 2002 1:02 PM | | I already decided it was a bit too long/slow but I didn't have time to re-render it.
Thanks.
Pete |
| Isn't that like an accident? | JimC Jan 31, 2002 1:10 PM | | re-render? thinkI had one once. jeez I must be really bored to post that? Jim |

| Niiiiice. | Twilight Error® Jan 31, 2002 2:45 PM | | It took me an hour and a half to DL it - Fukking dialup - but I was riding the trainer while it came in so no worries. Not having been on a night ride for so long, I almost forgot how much fun it is. The stuff I ride at night is a bit tighter in the sides but not so many overhanging branches. I've been thinking about getting a MiniDV rig for myself with a little bit of the settlement from my brief career as a log ramp, is there anything in particular I should look for or stay away from in a recorder? I looked on your website for info, is there anything thats changed since you put it up? |

| 7 hours to download via serial cable! | Denise Jan 31, 2002 3:49 PM | | Is there a way to save this to my PC instead of just watching it? I've watched it 2 times now, but have to wait for it to download each time. It has been taking it about 7 hours for it to start playing on my PC at work where I am hooked to the web via a serial cable. I sat here at work and stared it all day, but the cool thing was that by the time it started playing, it was time to leave for the day.
Thanks. |
| right click, then click on "save target as"... | atheist infidel Feb 1, 2002 10:12 AM | | a save as window will pop up so that you can select where on your computer you want to save the download, the desktop for me is usually convenient. If the download is a keeper, I'll then transfer it somewhere else, if not, it's deleted. |
| Better than the "Bring On The Night" vid, IMO | Chip. Jan 31, 2002 6:28 PM | | I also like the new (new to me, at least) opening credits. Good job. -C |
| Great vid, what lights were you using?.....more | Velophile Jan 31, 2002 8:53 PM | | The main light looked nice & white like a HID, was it?.
The other light source looked red by comparison. Which one was helmet mounted & which was bar mounted?
Cheers V. |

Great video too! Thanks.
