Climbin' up to Sugarloaf(2 posts)

Climbin' up to Sugarloafdcm311
Mar 5, 2002 6:01 PM
Got the morning off school, so I went for a ride up to Ward. Tat was HARD, especially considering there was a ~30mph headwind most of the way up.

The exciting part was afterschool when I decided that the closest thing to singletrack (it just snowed a foot so singletrack's out) was a ride up to Fredrick's house via Logan Mill rd. Rode up fourmil to Logan and realized what a mess it was. Average of 4 inches of snow in the shade and in the sun inch deep mud. Makes it especially hard after the Ward ride. About five miles in the road became so bad with snow about a foot deep all across (no many cars on Logan) that I had to walk sections. A mile later it became completely impassable and I had to turn around =(. On the way down, not only were my feet freezing cold from walking through the snow, I got covered in mud, good excuse to take a hot shower.

Cheers,

Daniel

PS I'll see if I can borrow my dad's digital camera and take pictures next time. Someone who lives in Boulder has to ride up there to see what a mess it is.

I can only imagine how bad it is. Everything is f*ing soggy or slushy, I'm going to CO Springs this WE.
