| This weather is f'n killing me! | TNJED® Mar 26, 2002 11:37 PM | | It must have been 0 degrees in Boston today after the wind chill. The rain was falling sideways as bitter grumpy people scurried about looking like Mary Poppins and her flying umbrella.
My baby..my poor, poor baby sits in a dark basement kept company only by two other miserable two wheeled hunks of aluminum. This weather is killing me. New England seems to be starting a new trend. A couple warm-ish days in march(the tease), and then a flury of freezing rain and bone chilling cold to kick us while we're down.
Oh how I long for that bright spring day when I blow the dust off my baby and drag her out into the light. My schedule only offers brief windows of opportunity, and those windows seem to be windows of rain and cold. I haven't been in the woods in 29 days, and it is taking its toll. The forecast for this week...rain, cold friggin rain. I need to ride! I need to at least think that I could be riding.
end whining...sorry to bum ya'll out, just needed to release a little self pitty. Enjoy your rides all you southerners! Peace

| i hear ya,,,, | biztyke Mar 27, 2002 12:10 AM | | weve had some wacky weather up here in vancouver. generally, cold crappy weather. a week ago, we had snow all over and 0 degree temps with bad wind to top it off........nasty weather.
but it seems in the last week, the gods have been kind and given us half decent spring weather. i couldnt take it anymore and decided to go for a ride saturday, spend 4 hrs riding burke mntn......it still had a lot of snow, but it was fun.
now weve got a forecast of rain for the next......forever, but still reletavely warm temps.
stick it out, i know its tough......but good weather will come. |

| what a difference 100 miles makes | JimW Mar 27, 2002 5:09 AM | | rode early morning (6am)Tuesday in great conditions here in central
CT. 'Course by midafternoon it was spitting drizzle, and by evening it was raining buckets. Bad for my riding habit, but good for the garden !

| 82 deg and sunny in Phoenix | AZ Steelhead Mar 27, 2002 6:42 AM | | It's killing us to, got a sunburn yesterday, better breakout the sunblock. |
| Today...its snowing just east of Nashville... | Hollis Mar 27, 2002 6:52 AM | | Sunday was sunny & 65°. Today we get snow, nothing serious, just a few scattered flakes. We've been screwed up weather wise as well. We've had about 6-7" of rain for March (normal rainfall is 4"). |
| It's the Canadians. . . | Stick Mar 27, 2002 7:00 AM | | Sending their nasty weather your way. Retribution, my friend. For your callous indifference.
Payback's a b!tch, eh? |
| I keep forgetting.... | TNJED® Mar 27, 2002 11:52 AM | | about that damn karma thing. Just when I think it's treating me well, it hops up and bites me in the arse. |
| BOYCOTT CANADIAN WEATHER!!! | Charlie America Mar 27, 2002 12:56 PM | | They imposed a 39% fridgid tax on all weather shipped South to the U.S. I say we stop accepting weather from the Great White North until they can give us better at a cheaper price!
Still, it is nice to go out for a walk in the woods with the dog, the snow falling around me and a blanket of white under my feet. I like it here where there are seasons.

| I agree... | TNJED® Mar 27, 2002 8:59 PM | | The season's of New England are fantastic. I just wish winter wasn't the longest one. How about a 5 month summer 2 month fall 2 month spring and 3 month winter. That would suit me just fine. |
| Typical spring weather. Lol! nm | fred³ Mar 27, 2002 7:11 AM | | |
| 3.5" of rain on my favorite trails yesterday!!!!!!........ | cush Mar 27, 2002 7:13 AM | | arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Looks like another week in the basement on the trainer! |
| Weather has gone to shyte in NY too... | S+J Mar 27, 2002 7:20 AM | | We've been getting the exact same thing. 50-mph gusts, freezing rain, snow, wind chill of 10...weather not fit for man or beast. We got 1/2-inch per hour of rain. Fortunately it stopped around 4:00 this morning and it's starting to clear up a little.
Fock, I hate March.

| Yeah, this is the tuffest time of year in Ma. | Locoman Mar 27, 2002 7:59 AM | | At least when the ground is frozen you can ride.
I'll take frozen over slop any time.
(better yet, warm and dry!)
Dirt. |
| Warm here today. | Kitchenware Mar 27, 2002 8:02 AM | | gonna be a sweet, sunny, 65 degree Colorado day. Just got back from my morning ride and still high on adrenalin. Big hill, Big gear not big enough for the speed, traffic backed up, bike lane empty, focking high speed descent, launching curbs to avoid bus stops/peds, street sweeper, Woooohooooo!

| re: This weather is f'n killing me! | TexasMTBr Mar 27, 2002 10:54 AM | | Same thing going on in North Texas. It gets sunny and sort of warm during the week (clear and 65F right now) and then turns cold and pours like a sonofab!tch on the weekends. And it gets dark too quick to ride after work. Spring training is really suffering...
My only hope lies in the old saying "If you don't like the weather in Texas, wait 30 minutes." |
| re: This weather is f'n killing me! | TNJED® Mar 27, 2002 11:57 AM | | I thought that "If you don't like the weather..." phrase was from New England. I did not realize that Texas had major weather fluctuations as well. I wonder where that phrase came from, North or South. Maybe some guy was sitting at a bar with a Texan, and they coined it over a couple frosty beverages...Sorry, babbling, bored in this damn Sys Analysis and Design class. |
