K'endo was telling me you are doing lots of road & flat gravel miles to get your leg back in to shape.
My brother & I built up 2 sets of F519 for our FS XC bikes but I don't have any time on them yet. My brother hasn't had any problems with his.
Mavic lists them as for "Freeride, cross-country for intensive use." They aren't that much heavier than the pure XC rims they sell.

Kona had them spec'd on the Stinky DeLux last year and Duncan has been riding them hard and they have stood up well.
They get good reviews on MTBR too.

I have decided to go for the 519's. In fact the order is already in.
As to the road and gravel riding, this is true. Can you believe that I am actually doing some x-c type of riding. For the most part I cannot do hills so I stick to flat ground.Trying to do hills is quite painfull yet, so I am just puting time in the saddle for now. At least I'm getting out and having fresh air in the lungs instead of stale gym air. |
