Apr 21, 2002 4:55 PM | | First race of the season and two of the kids wanted to try it too. Chelsea did the kids race and got a trophy for her efforts. Matt is 13 so he had to race in the 12-18 first timers real race. He finished strong after an endo down a hill and managed to beat a few guys.
I had my best race ever. Since moving up to sport class in '99 my quest was always "don't be last" and this time I did much better. 17th in a field of 68. I am pretty psyched because I have not been riding much yet this year.
After their races, Matt and Chelsea were my race support taking pics and handing me bottles and PowerGel.
Having them along made it a much better experience and they both want to do it again soon! |
