| Went for a ride on saturday | Braids Apr 22, 2002 9:37 AM | | I wore a heart rate monitor for the first time in a long time. I rode with training in mind for about 90 minutes. I then headed back to the car to get my camera and rode to take some pictures.
Some of the pics are big so I will post them all separately.
These are taken at Coulson's Hill. I went trail building on Sunday at Durham forest. They cut down a lot of trees there for telephone polls. They ruined one of my favourite areas. I have no pics of sunday. |
| A bridge pic | Braids Apr 22, 2002 9:38 AM | | I posted this bridge from the other side about two weeks ago. I like this section a lot. |
| Four wheelers are not your friend | Braids Apr 22, 2002 9:40 AM | | This was a marsh last year... I'm hoping it returns to normal by the summer. Why do they have to take multiple lines through the same mud? |
| Pine trees grow in straight lines in nature? | Braids Apr 22, 2002 9:42 AM | | You can't see it in the pic but the pine tress all grow in straight lines here. I think they were planted. |
| Raspberry bushes | Braids Apr 22, 2002 9:44 AM | | The tree across the trail is low. It's just high enough you think you can get under it until your pack catches on it and it forces your groin onto your seat and everything gets crushed...
Raspberry bushes grow on both sides here and in August it's a good place to eat. |
| Another bridge... | Braids Apr 22, 2002 9:46 AM | | ...this time it has skidoo tracks across it. The roots on the other side are fun. |
| Two more bridges or is it three? | Braids Apr 22, 2002 9:48 AM | | There are a few bridges in this area. The narrower bridge on the left used to be on the right but I guess it was too hard for some people so they made a wider bridge. |
| People actually cut this line | Braids Apr 22, 2002 9:51 AM | | It looks darker here than it did on my home computer but hopefully you can see the up and over bank. People actually cut this line and try to go straight through. Why? It's not that hard. It is steeper than it looks though. |
