| Attn: Norcal Riders/Pet lovers | Roger Apr 22, 2002 9:41 AM | | I know this isn't the appropriate place, but I'm using all resources available. I have a 4 year old male German Shorthair Pointer that I have to find a new home for. His name is Eli and he's a wonderful dog, however, he decided that he wanted to go play with the neighbor's lambs on Saturday morning. He played with a neighbors lamb in the same manner that he plays with our other dog Zoe. Unfortunately, lambs are far to fragile to be played with in that manner and Eli sufficated the lamb. He didn't break the skin of the lamb. Being in an open rural setting, the only way we can ensure this wouldn't happen again is to remove Eli. We have a dog pen and radio fence, but nothing is full proof.
Other than this incident, he's been the perfect dog and it's very difficult for my wife and I to think about him leaving us. He's not a "trail dog" although he's been out a few times. He's an outside dog who loves to run and play. Like most shorthairs he's got a bundle of energy but is easy to calm down and behaves when told. He doesn't lick, doesn't get ticks, and oddly enough has never had fleas (maybe the coat). He's up on all of his shots, however, he hasn't been neutered (we'd pay for that if someone was interested and that was a condition).
We're just trying to find him a home before we have to turn to Animal rescue or the SPCA.
If you or know of someone else interested, please email me at roger_lackey@ftb.ca.gov(nospam)
Thanks. |
