As the song says - what goes up...(weekend ride)Chef

Must, inevitably, come down. Sometimes it's smooth and gentle...

while sometimes, it's abrupt and painful...

I suppose that, after last week's successes, it's only fair that this week saw a plethora of crashes. I just wish it didn't have to be so expensive...

Regardless, challenges were attempted, and generally conquered. Alison, instead of trying (again, and again, and again) - succeeded (again, and again, and again)...

Travis (Dante) rode The Wall (read it HERE) and, even though he managed to do himself damage he did indeed clean it.

Jerome hit some things he'd never ridden, and cleaned the majority of them...

Tom (Karpi) hit this 9-footer; his record on it is sketchy, but this time he pulled it out super-smooth...

Jenna nosed into this 4-footer that she cleaned last week...

However, she promptly said something along the lines of "screw that", went back up to the top, and launched it clean...

Even I managed to get into the action; my crash late in the day, caused by an attack of advanced stupidity (I mean, when your fork is screwy you don't HAUL ARSE down a hill, right?), was painful yet hardly a damper. I rolled some faces that I've never attempted, rolled the original NFW, and actually rolled the right side of NFW2 three times. This is a rockface earlier in the day. Photo credit to Jenna (good pic - thanks!).

Cheers to those who ate dirt, augered in, or in some way left a piece of themselves to appease the singletrack Gods. You all rock.

Bullets told me what nutballs you guys were ;^) If someone went up there with say...a rigid SS... they wouldn't have much riding to do would they?
Quite to the contrary...Chef

There are at least 12-15 miles of very technical singletrack with lots of climbing and descending. It's some of the best XC around. You don't have to do the jumps, or chutes, or any of that stuff - it's just there if you want to. One of the guys who's joined the group the past couple weekends is a SSer - he watches, does some of the jumps, and occasionally goes off to ride more XC.

When I first started riding at Trumbull it was for the XC - I didn't quite know what to think of these "nutballs" jumping off of things. How ironic that I should now be included in that group. :-)

Seriously - you could ride there with a rigid SS. You'd just be hurting afterwards). ;-)

Actually Andy was there with a rigid SS (he did have a front fork) but he rode NFW2, did 3-4 footer wheely drop and lauches...

It's not all about the bike ;-)
Congrats on one fine postMr Magoo

I've never been there but have been going through withdrawal since Mountain Creek stopped their lift served program.

Might be interested in a trip there some time in May.
