Looking for detailed maps of the Mojave DesertFat-tire

I'm doing a relay race there (starting in Primm, NV)in a couple weeks, and was wondering if there are mapping program (websites or software) that will show some of the smaller roads. I looked at some of the atlases at the bookstore, but I don't think they were as detailed as they could be.

Anybody have any suggestions?

It's called the Mojave Death Race

www.mojavedeathrace.com

This is my third year, so I know exactly what to expect. In fact, while the daytime temps should be 118+ (which really is not that bad for us; we in AZ where it has already hit 104), the nightime temps are sometimes below freezing.

In the big picture, the race really is not that bad. There are 12 racers on a team and we need to finish a 285 mile lap. But it's a relay, so each of us has to do two legs (either running, road biking, or mt biking).

The difficult part for me is that this year I am captain, and I need to coordinate who needs to be where when. Thus, the need of the detailed maps.
That is focking insane!Bonee

Sounds cool though. Good luck! I'm just online getting directions to Palm Springs for the weekend. I'll check out the link later. Have fun. That sounds cool.

I'll second that on the National Geographic...thats what I us all the time, it's great. Also for kicks if you haven't purchased the Nat Geo yet, www.topozone.com is not bad to check out as well. The National Geo you can add text and stuff where as topozone you cannot.

Good Luck!
It would appear USGS sells maps online at . . .SoCalAl
